Bringing Faith, Family, Fitness, and
Freedom into Education

FALL 2025 | AGES 6-14 | TUES-THURS | 10-3 | SMITHFIELD, UT

As a former public school teacher and
an official homeschooling mom since
2017, my husband and I have dreamed
of creating an education academy
that would bless not only our family,
but our community as well.

Our goal is to meld together many of
the positive aspects of homeschooling
and public/private school, while also
minimizing the challenges that come
along with both.

Our Mission:

Develop life-long
habits that lead
to success and
maximize joy

Weekly Schedule

1Following the optional devotional, our socratic discussions are opportunities for the students to practice thinking
critically, forming opinions, articulating those opinions, and respectfully debating differing opinions

in a safe environment.

2During this time, students will work on the individual academic/spiritual/physical goals they’ve set for that week,
with parent and mentor feedback and support.

3For lunch, students will be in charge of bringing their own sack lunches. A long recess break is essential for the kids
to relax, unwind, and truly become great friends.

CREATIVE BLOCK

ACADEMIC BLOCK

4We are thrilled to implement topics, stories, and activities from the Well-Educated Heart rotation schedule.

5We are so excited to make movement and fitness a top priority of our academy.

6The topic for the elective class on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons will be different, and it will likely change every
semester based on availability of our great mentors and interests of the students.

7In place of our Creative Block on Wednesdays, we will be going out into nature together and exploring the great
outdoors! The research on the benefits of being outdoors is clear. Giving the kids an opportunity to explore, climb,
and play outside together is a priority we are excited to implement! Pick your students(s) up at 12:30 on
Wednesdays, bring your littles, and meet us at nearby nature parks and canyon locations for a wonderful Wild
Wednesday afternoon!

Family Nights

Approximately every 6 weeks, we will
conclude a learning session by having a
Family Night where all students will share
projects they’ve been working on during
the session.

Youth Book Club

For our students 12+, we are going to have
a book club along with each session block
(approximately 6 weeks long). At these
book club events, we will have a book
discussion, eat snacks together, and do
an activity that relates to the book (ie.
game, craft, etc.). The students will also be
invited to write a reflection paper on the
book they’ve read. We are so excited for
this and feel like it will be a meaningful,
enjoyable activity for them!

Passionate about education, I earned
degrees in Early Childhood and
Elementary Education with a Math
Endorsement. After teaching, I chose
to stay home and later
homeschooled my children for
nearly a decade, loving the
experience. Having seen both public
schools and homeschooling, I aim to
blend their strengths into a holistic
educational approach that fosters
faith, fitness, flexibility, love of
learning, freedom, and whole-person
development.

Three years ago, Megan started
homeschooling her nine-year-old,
embracing a journey that
strengthened their family.
Passionate about inspiring a love of
learning, she uses The Well
Educated Heart philosophy to teach
her daughters academics and life’s
beauty. Her adventurous spirit fuels
her love for travel, including a seven-
month European trip, immersing her
family in new cultures. Megan’s
creativity and enthusiasm unite
others, enriching lives at home and
abroad.
